Erin Henderson
As someone in long-term recovery and a practicing social worker and counsellor, Erin has experienced firsthand the transformation that becomes possible through recovery and wellness. She is passionate about supporting others on their healing journeys and truly believes that meaningful change—and a more fulfilling life—is possible when we do the work of freeing ourselves from addiction. Erin understands that recovery looks different for everyone, and that compassionate, individualized support is an essential part of the process.
Erin works with others at any stage- those who are curious about their alcohol/using patterns, wanting to change or stop their current patterns, and those who are already on the recovery path looking for deeper one on one therapeutic support for further growth and healing. Erin works collaboratively with individuals to explore what is no longer serving them, build a greater sense of safety within, and reconnect more deeply with themselves so meaningful change can occur.
Erin’s approach is highly trauma-informed, client-centred, integrating a bio-psycho-social-spiritual lens, along with a focus on the nervous system. She will work with you to find ways to support you in your recovery and growth, recognizing that each pathway is unique. Her work is fluid, and can be guided by evidence-based and experiential practices, including mindfulness, the mind–body connection, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), breathwork, solution-focused approaches, and parts work.
Erin has over 20 years experience working with others in social and health services fields. Erin has a Master’s in Social Work and is a Registered Social Worker in BC. She also holds additional certifications in substance use, recovery coaching, and breathwork. In her spare time, she loves hiking on the North Shore mountains with her dog, paddle boarding, reading, and spending time with her loved ones.
Erin’s fee is $165 for a 50 min session. This may be submitted for reimbursement if counselling provided by a social worker is covered by your extended health benefit plan.
